Cassie Leatham lives on Country in Gippsland Victoria. Surrounded by natural resources Cassie is a well respected bush woman with vast knowledge of bush foods, medicines, and harvesting techniques. She is a weaver and potter, collecting her own wild sourced natural clay and ochres from the land near her home.
Cassie recently launched her first collaborative jewellery collection with the National Gallery of Victoria and was a finalist in the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAAs) in 2019. And she has recently been announced a second time Telstra NATSIAA finalist in 2020.
She is a highly sought after teacher and lecturer, and works closely with school aged children, imparting the importance of knowledge sharing within Indigenous communities.
