Kunda Beamo was born in Melbourne in 1941 and is of Yamadji descent. He is a self-taught artist who draws inspiration from reclaiming his identity and culture. Kunda Beamo’s work has been included in numerous exhibitions, museums and art awards in Queensland, around Australia and overseas.
Graeme "Kunda" Beamo paints animals, stories and events significant to his experience. Green Tree Snakes, Googah (Goanna), Green Tree Frogs, Barramundi, and Whitchetty Grubs are familiar icons in Beamo's work as are special events such as corroboree, initiation, dancing, and family gatherings.
