Pier Zamburro (Wirangu) has delicately created this masterful collar made from possum skin, ochre, resin, brushtail possum fibre and cashmere silk.
Accepted into the Koori Heritage Trust 11th Art Show, 2023, this piece is designed to be warm and practical, yet exudes artistry worthy of a museum or gallery.
As a hollow fibre, Possum fur is unique, precious, light and very warm and has been used culturally for countless generations. The artwork on the inside of the collar allows for a reversible item and then the soft possum and knitted cashmere will provide warmth upon closure of the collar.
